PEER PRESSURE

Staying authentic despite pressures from society, peers, family to conform. Being yourself doesn't mean looking completely different, being unique and never doing mainstream things. It means to always be internally motivated, making choices that are not dependent on what current trends/biases/stigma appear to be. Peer Pressure simply means the 'influence from members of one's peer group'.

Peer Pressure is something not only kids deal with, even adults, people with kids deal with peer pressure, a few weeks ago I wrote about desperation in a woman, you can go back to my home page to read about that if you haven't read that post, so the thing is peer pressure is part of the reasons why a woman can be desperate, but that's by the way.
Talking about peer pressure, it's something every age group faces but now the deal with it is would you let it get to you? This is something most people cannot control, when you see your friend buying new cars, or new shoes or clothes, materialistic things in general and it isn't that you are in a bad place? No! you're not, but, you want to be on the same pace with them, It is not a bad thing to want nice things but at what cost? You then begin to do stupid things in order to get that new car. I am sure you all know what im talking about I dont need to elaborate on that yeah.
So my main point for this post is now that we know what peer pressure is and what it does to people, Now what I wrote above is not the only way peer pressure affects people, there are so many ways but I decided to use that one popular example. The real question now is How do we deal with peer pressure? SELF ESTEEM , your self esteem needs to be built, solid, nothing can get through to you, not bullies, not your friends, not the society, not even your family, Nothing or No one. your self esteem should be as solid as a rock. This enables you to have a mind of your own, No one can make you do what you don't want to do or be who you don't want to be. It all falls down to you. Peer Pressure is happening all around, it's even on social media these days, for example, Instagram where most people are trying so hard to be who they arent through pictures. people see this and feel oppressed. we all have to realise that:
 1. fingers are not equal.
 2. you are where you are supposed to be right now and when God sees that you have learnt your lesson from where you are then He moves you to something better.
3. Everything you are is by the grace of God, not by how much strength you put into it.

Its not about everyone else, Its about YOU.
So people, don't let peer pressure get to you. there is absolutely nothing wrong with being different.

  2. I so relate, the peer pressure is crazy.the one i can't wrap my head round is how people tend to forget to do what they are good at but instead turn to doing something else just cause that is what's in vogue. keep it up dear
